Drainage of large car park at Airedale International in Leeds, England
Airedale International, a world leader in the design and manufacturing of high efficiency air conditioning, had to rebuild their Leeds factory after a fire partially destroyed the original building in 2013. The large project, awarded to the main contractor BAM Construction, covers an area of 166 x 130 metres, which is very similar to the original premises.
The large underground car park at the new Airedale factory is drained with 500 metres of RECYFIX NC 100 fitted with 10mm slotted ductile iron gratings class E600.
Installed by groundwork contractor GRK Build each one metre unit weighs only 10.7kg, including the grating, so they are easy to handle and position on site. The order for the RECYFIX channels was secured by Builders Merchant James Burrell Limited and was supplied together with the relevant trash boxes and end caps.
Decision of RECYFIX NC due to easy handling and without mechanical lifting on site
Colin Taff, the HAURATON Project Manager for the North East and Yorkshire areas says, “BAM Construction, merchants James Burrell Limited and GRK Build, the groundwork contractors were all satisfied with the RECYFIX NC range because the units are easy to handle even without any mechanical lifting equipment and they are extremely resistant. The channel arrives on site with its grating already positioned and fixed with eight high tensile bolts."
