Straight lines are nowhere to be found at the "Wave" in Frankfurt, Germany

"The Wave" is the name of an area in the city centre of Frankfurt. The names says it all - straight lines are nowhere to be found. Radial, curved and fluent - the architecture of the site in Frankfurt can be explained this way and HAURATON adapted the drainage concept to the extraordinary open area of the office complex. The main focus of the architects was the consistency of the "wavy concept". Nevertheless, the planners found a clear design language which makes the complex unique.

Together with the German architectural office "schneider+schneider" and Jörg Kirschenlohr, construction manager from the contractor August Fichter the HAURATON project team developed a sophisticated plan for the drainage systems.

Discreet channel look provides structure 

The channels were individually planned and produced. For discreetness, radial slotted channels were used with only a small slot visible at the surface. The performance of the drainage channel, which depends on the drainage cross section of the channel body, was specially laid out. Different types of surfaces like poured asphalt and flagging are separated by the slotted channels. In this way, the surface of the complex is optically structured.

For drainage of the surface, 200 metres of radial slotted channels made of stainless steel were installed. Even the trash boxes were specially designed and produced for this construction project - the trash boxes are circular.

Along the facades, FASERFIX KS channels with elegant longitudinal gratings made of stainless steel were used. The facade drainage demanded special requirements regarding resistance because of the use of cleaners. With the usage of the corrosion-resistant material stainless-steel, the channels and gratings will remain elegant for a long time.

Clear result: the "Wave" - it's well-rounded!
